Police Blotter: Jan. 27-29

Friday, January 27: DUI at the 300 block of Newtown–Richboro Road

While on patrol at 6:20 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle being driven erratically as it turned from Holland Road onto Newtown–Richboro Road continuing west bound on Newtown–Richboro. The officer stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of Newtown–Richboro Road and identified the driver as Bruce Wilson, 46, of Buckingham. Observations of Wilson by the officer and his inability to successfully complete a series of field dexterity tests led to his being taken into custody on suspicion of having been driving while under the influence. Wilson was transported to the Saint Mary Medical Center where samples of his blood were obtained for analysis. He was then taken to NTPD headquarters where he was released to a family member. Charges relating to DUI are pending the lab report.

Criminal Mischief on Galloway Road

The complainant reported having been out of the house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., returning to find that unknown actor(s) had smashed her mailbox that was valued at $100.

Attempted Theft on Heritage Drive

At 8:49 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a subject trying car doors on Heritage Drive. On their arrival they observed a subject matching the description of that provided by the complainant walking on Heritage Drive. As the officers approached, the subject turned and began walking in the opposite direction. The subject refused commands to stop but was caught by officers who were able to detainee the 16-year-old male from Huntingdon Valley, following a brief struggle. He was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a large amount of change and drug paraphernalia. The subject was taken to NTPD headquarters and released to his parents. Investigation is continuing.

 

Saturday, January 28: Criminal Mischief on Mulberry Drive

The complainant reported that sometime after 7:40 p.m. Jan. 27, the side mirror was broken on a family member’s vehicle that was parked in the street. Damage was estimated at $100.

Theft from Vehicle on Nelson Drive

The victim reported the theft of her tote bag from a friend’s vehicle sometime in the early morning hours of Jan. 28. The vehicle was parked in the home's driveway. Among other items, the bag contained credit cards that were reportedly used to make fraudulent purchases. The bag and its contents had an estimated value in excess of $1,3000.

Theft from Vehicle on Grenville Circle

The complainant reported a fire extinguisher valued at $10 had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime after Jan. 21.

 

Sunday, January 29: Theft from Vehicle at the 3400 block of Norwood Place

The complainant reported that sometime between 8 p.m. Jan. 27 and 2 a.m. Jan. 28, unknown actor(s) had entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in front of the home and stole an iPod, camera, purse and wallet. No value was given for the stolen items.

Theft from Vehicle at the 3400 block of Coventry Place

The complainant reported that sometime after 9:30 p.m. Jan. 27, someone had entered his unlocked truck that was parked outside his residence. The actor(s) took a handicap placard from the rearview mirror, a pair of sunglasses and various other small items.
