Northampton Firefighters Respond to Log College Drive Blaze
A fire gutted a two-story Log College Drive home Thursday afternoon.
No one was injured when flames tore through a house in the 1100 block of Log College Drive in Warminster Thursday afternoon.
Warminster Fire Marshal Dan Laurich said his office is investigating the possibility that lightning struck the home just before the fire. Storms were moving through the township at around 4 p.m.
"I heard a boom just before I saw the fire trucks," said a neighbor at the scene. The neighbor did not wish to have her name published.
Arriving firefighters and police, reported heavy flames coming from the house.
The fire marshal said the residents were home at the time of fire and had escaped from the structure, which was rendered uninhabitable.
Fire crews used several water lines, including a ladder truck and squirt unit, to extinguish flames which emanated from the roof of the home and spread to the second floor, Laurich said.
Aside from flames, firefighters battled hot temperatures and high humidity. Cold drinks and other refreshments were provided at the scene by EMS crews and a canteen truck from Doylestown.
Fire crews from Hartsville, Hatboro, Horsham, Northampton, Warminster and Warrington responded to the call.
