The Christmas season is also a big season for getting engaged. Let's face it, the only thing that sparkles more than tinsel on the tree is a new engagement ring.

All you have to do is go the Greatest Groom Contest on the Philadelphia Magazine Web site, fill in some basic information, add a photo and, in 200 words or less, explain why your groom-to-be is awesome.

Yep, it's that simple and the prize package is pretty impressive.

In addition to things like the cake, a disc jockey, lodging, video and limousines, the whole event will take place at the historic Pen Ryn Mansion. Want more? Well, how about having your entire wedding immortalized in Philadelphia Wedding? 

It's not surprise that response to the contest as been strong, but Michelle Greco Falcone, Visit Bucks County’s Communications Manager, said she's hoping for some post-holiday entries.

"We were hoping for 100 entries and we're already there," she said. "But we're hoping for a spike after Christmas."

December 31, 2011 is the contest deadline and the winner will be announced in Febraury at the Bucks County Bridal Show. Oh, and neither the bride nor the groom need to be from Bucks County to win.
