Drunken Man Tries to Break into Grandview Drive Home, Police Say
An apparently homeless man was caught on the back deck of a house; he was intoxicated and was carrying cocaine, according to police.
A man who attempted to break into a home on Grandview Drive Friday night was drunk and in possession of cocaine, Northampton Township Police said.
According to police, at about 11 p.m. Friday, officers received a report of a possible burglary in progress at a home on the 100 block of Grandview Drive.
When they arrived to the scene, John Meinel, 43, who has no permanent address, was on the rear deck of a home. His possessions were found on the back decks of two homes on the street.
Police said Meinel was intoxicated and in possession of cocaine. He was taken into custody, returned to NTPD-HQ and processed.
Charges of Possession of Cocaine, Loitering and Prowling at Night, Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct were filed against him.
He was arraigned before District Judge Kelly who remanded him to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
