CONTACT to Host Beef & Beer Fundraiser

The fundraiser will help Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers pay legal bills.

Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers will host a fundraiser to help pay for the organization's legal fees on Sunday, July 22 at Big Heads Richboro Pub.

The entire community—children included—are invited to the Beef & Beer Fundraiser that will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the pub to support the organization.

In addition to live music, food and drinks, a silent auction will be held as well as 50/50 raffles. Four Jimmy Buffet tickets, two Diamond Club Phillies tickets, a semi-precious stone necklace and a wheelbarrow containing $400 of beer and liquor (donated by Modern Contractors in Langhorne) are just some of the raffle items. For a full list of raffle items, visit the community group's website.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the customer service desk at the Richboro Shop and Bag. In advance, tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children, and includes the price of food and drinks. At the door, tickets will cost $30 for adults.

The Citizens of Northampton Township Against Cell Towers (CONTACT) hired an attorney, David Truelove, to represent the group in the fight against American Tower Corporation, the company that started installing 25-foot-tall towers throughout Northampton Township. ATC, the township and CONTACT's lawyers met in court on June 19, and have until Aug. 31 to work toward a solution to the Distributed Antenna System issue that has mobilized the community in recent months.

At the Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday, June 27, Supervisor Eileen Silver suggested that the community head to the event to support the group and its cause.

"Support them. These are the people that are... getting attorneys and are helping us," Silver said.
