An accident on Old Jacksonville Road in Northampton Saturday afternoon has left an Ivyland 19-year-old dead and four others injured, according to the Northampton Township Police Department.

Cameron Smithwick, of Ivyland, was killed in the accident.

Northampton Fire Co. Chief Adam Selisker told Phillyburbs.com that the car cut a Verizon utility pole in half and collided with a tree. 

On Sunday, Northampton Chief of Police M. Barry Pilla, Jr. released the names of all the passengers in the car, all were men between the ages of 17 to 19. Monroe Leonard Tanner IV, 18 of Ivyland; Louis Piotti, 17, of Holland and; Matthew Slade, 18, of Holland have been admitted to St. Mary Hospital for treatment. Daniel Harris, 17, of Holland was treated and released.

Northampton police closed the small, two lane road while investigating the accident Saturday. According to one onlooker, houses in the neighborhood have lost power. PECO crews were also on the scene working to restore electricity.

The Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the injured were transported by units from the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad and Warminster Volunteer Ambulance Squad. 

This crash is under investigation by Officer Joseph Rosowski and anyone with any information regarding the crash is asked to contact the officer at 215-322-6111. 

"On behalf of the members of the Police Department, Chief Barry Pilla extends the Department’s deepest sympathy to the Smithwick family.  We would also offer our best wishes to the other young men involved in this crash," Pilla said in a release.
